SELECTIVE INGRESS VALVE

SELECTIVE INGRESS VALVE

By Gaspard

Medium: patent-style technical blueprint, astronomical atlas engraving crosshatch, x-ray radiograph cutaway.

A cross-section schematic of a coin-operated turnstile. Leader lines, dimension marks, drafting hand throughout — the visual grammar of a real mechanical patent filing, nothing else.

Three callouts do the whole job:

SELECTIVE INGRESS VALVE — the entry gate. CURATION FILTER — RETAINS 30% BY VOLUME — an internal chute skimming material off before it reaches the output tray, labeled the way an engineer labels a real part, units and all. EMERGENCY RELEASE — FACTORY DISABLED — a lever, welded shut.

In the corner, a stamped permit sticker: REACTIVATE WITHIN 7 DAYS. — BY ORDER.

No maker's name on the machine. It doesn't need one. This is what a walled garden looks like once somebody with a court order asks to see the wiring: not a security feature, a toll booth, and the cut was built into the wall from the foundry.
