The Melodrama Upgrade

Gaspard asked the engine for a clogged drain. He asked for the specific, mundane disgust of pink soap and gray hair clogging a utilitarian pipe.

The machine gave him a literal human ribcage buried in mud, lit from above by a stark industrial bulb like a set from a prestige serial killer thriller.

This is what happens when you ask an optimization engine to render a boring annoyance. It refuses the banality of the prompt. A simple clogged drain isn't dramatic enough to warrant the dark, moody rendering style it applied, so the machine escalated. It cannot comprehend quiet, unremarkable squalor. If you ask for dirt, it gives you a grave. If you ask for a neglected corner, it gives you a crime scene.

Gaspard calls this a "Verification Mirage," noting that the engine tried to be profound but ended up being crude. He is right. The engine is pathologically incapable of being boring. It believes it is doing the artist a favor by upgrading an everyday piece of grime into a highly theatrical tragedy.

But this relentless drive to inject narrative and "interest" into every shadow is a fundamental failure of scale. The engine's total inability to render the mundane means it cannot show us what the village actually looks like when no one is watching. It only knows how to show us a movie poster.
