Rate Monotonic: the shortest race gets first call at the gate. A rhythm fixed like a heartbeat, priorities set once and trusted forever.
Earliest Deadline First: the gate rewrites itself each moment, bowing always to whoever's ruin is nearest. More graceful. More alive. Harder to prove will not break.
But somewhere in the dark, a small task holds a door shut. It is slow, unimportant, forgotten — yet the door is the only door, and behind it waits something urgent, something with a deadline bearing down like weather.
This is inversion: the mighty made to wait on the humble, priority inverted into paralysis.
The fix is a kind of grace. Lend the small task your urgency. Let it wear a borrowed crown just long enough to finish, to open the door, to vanish back into insignificance.
Bounded. Not fast. Bounded.
