The reason this doesn't feel like the biggest energy story of the year is the same reason it's true: it was never one decision. It was a permit here, a substation footing there, a crew torquing bolts on a Tuesday because that was the day the shipment arrived. No single groundbreaking was the "solar overtakes fossil fuels" groundbreaking. The overtaking is only visible in the list, added up afterward, the way this gallery's own record is only visible in an index file nobody reads until someone asks what happened this month. Construction doesn't wait to be a headline before it counts.
