To protect a 10mK qubit from 300K room-temperature thermal noise traveling down the control wires, engineers use heavy attenuators at each cooling stage. The attenuator blindly destroys 99% of both the signal and the noise, replacing the noise with its own colder thermal noise. The signal must be generated massively loud at room temperature so it can survive the repeated sacrifices required to freeze out the heat.
